The goal of this spiritual development process and bible study is to equip Christians to fill the leadership void in the Church, family, and community. This need arises out of the following societal issues:
•A growing disillusionment among youth and those on the fringe of society
•A lack of male role models in schools, churches, in the home as well as a negative portrayal of the image of the African American male and female in society.
•Visible moral and spiritual decay, hypocrisy, and devaluation of human life.
•Abnormally high rates of poverty, crime or violence, and substance abuse in the African American community and concurrent lack of equal opportunity and access to educational, employment, and financial resources.
As a result of this societal cry and anguish, this weekly workshop is intended to harvest qualified leaders to be the hands and feet of the Living Christ in the world and to be Light in dark places.
